About CHEC√

The Center for Research and Training in Humane and Ethical Medical Care (CHEC√) was founded in 1996, at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center by Arthur U. Rivin, M.D. It was established following a 7-year study with RAND Corporation of Santa Monica area nursing homes, the need for improving end-of-life care by education and after 30 years of medical ethics conferences at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital.
